With hours to go before we launch the inaugural Woodbridge Art and Music event, we'd like to thank all the amazing people that have supported us in our first year. And we're delighted that even at this late stage there are new artist and partners to announce.
W'e're very pleased to announce that ADNAMS is supporting this weekend's events, especially as we're rather partial to their crafted ales. And we are very pleased to announce that Mark Scott Wood, Jesse Quinn and Monika Celis form Canada have joined the line up..
The Fire Station (sister cafe to the Award winning Best British Bakery, The Cake Shop) is becoming a Beat generation acoustic only night with poetry and acoustic performance throughout the night.
Keane’s Jess Quinn will be spinning late night platters inside The Table's bar, after the live acts have finished there. One of those acts will be the throughly enchanting young Canadian songstress, Monika Celis. who's in the midst of her first UK tour and, having just returned from a triumphant debut in Edinburgh, comes to play Woodbridge the day before her London debut.
On the Art front, Suffolk born, London Based artist, Mark Scott Wood, is doing something little short of amazing.
Having grown up around Rendlesham forest, Mark has often been inspired by the famous UFO incident there. For Woodbridge Art and Music's first ART commission, he is recreating the East Gate of the US Airforce base where the UFO's were first sited. The twist is he is creating it out of cloth and installing it in Woodbridge Library. A soft East Gate. Both sureal and sic fi.
He’s still sewing it as we speak and will be installing it on Saturday morning.
Finally Lillac Thyme is holding a private view tonight for the works of artist Mary Piece, who has painted a suitably floral collection. The exhibition will be on display for the next two weeks.
And finally, DJ Ben Osborne will be playing some house music tonight at the East Coast Diner.
Make sure you've got your advance tickets for Elmhurst Park and other venues - as ever, the cheapest ones are available in person at the Riverside.
